THE FINISH: Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Once the fleet arrives at the Nanny Cay Resort and Marina between Roadtown and West End on Tortola, nightly social events bring participants together to swap experiences and exchange cruising plans.

  • Approximately eight days after The Start in Hampton, ralliers will enjoy two evening "Sip and Socialize" events.
  • The Awards Celebration at Nanny Cay is typically ten days after The Start.  The Awards Celebration begins in the afternoon with the Prize Giving Ceremony, poolside at Nanny Cay. Awards are presented to the participants of each racing/rally class as well as to cruisers who complete the passage safely. Special awards include the Fishing Trophy, Best Performance by a Double-handed Crew, and the Tempest Trophy exemplifying the “spirit of the event.” After the Prize Giving Ceremony, the participants enjoy a dockside cocktail hour and dinner. The Premier of the BVI, the Honorable Ralph O’Neal, is an invited guest who has long been a friend to the Caribbean 1500.
  • After the Awards Celebration, the fleet scatters and the participants begin their winter adventure in the Caribbean.
