from
Hampton, VA.
(Early Bird final day)
The Caribbean 1500 Rally is the largest and longest-running offshore cruising event in the Americas.
Join us, and you’ll discover the adventure, camaraderie, competition and lifelong friendships that bring crews back year after year. Ralliers will depart together from Hampton, VA and sail either 1500 miles to the British Virgin Islands or 875 miles to The Bahamas.
Twenty years and counting...
Over 1500 boats with 6000 ralliers aboard have met the challenge of the Caribbean 1500 and its companion events during our 20-year history. That’s more than two million rally miles! Tens of thousands of armchair sailors from over 50 countries come to the web site each year to watch the satellite-tracked event in progress.
Everyone is welcome...
The diverse fleet in this year’s rally will include ralliers from the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia... from double-handing couples to families with children to serious and not-so-serious racing crews. New boats, old boats, racing sleds, full-keeled cruisers and catamarans will join the fleet.
An experience to remember...
You’ll meet veteran ralliers, world cruisers, respected racers, and first-time passage-makers... all gathering for the adventure, competition and camaraderie of the Caribbean 1500.
"Our family crew worked tirelessly to keep the boat moving fast and on course. While we sailed on port tack the entire journey, there were many sail changes, regular trimming, and much hand steering as we worked our way down the rhumb line in following seas. There are some fabulous sailors and terrific boats in the rally and it is a great honor for us to have achieved this overall result.”
Colin Kilgour of Toronto, Canada, Bojangles IV, Overall Handicap Winner, Caribbean 1500 Rally 2009
