A great way to come home from the Caribbean! This year's event will take the fleet 840 miles from Tortola to Bermuda. The finish and awards party will be at the St George's Dinghy and Sports Club before sailing on to New England, Europe, or the Mid-Atlantic. Boats can join ARC Europe leaving from the same club.
The event is scheduled to start May 3 from hospitable Village Cay Marina in Road Town, Tortola, BVI. A volunteer crew list will be available to skippers, to help round out crews.

The fleet will gather at Village Cay on April 30 for registration and briefings. En route, professional weather forecasting will be shared daily by the fleet. Twice daily radio chats will include position reporting and keep the fleet in touch.

"We do the Atlantic Cup each year for three reasons .Security, safety, and conviviality. It's a lot shorter hop doing 4 days up to Bermuda, then 4 days over to the States instead of the 7-10 day passage. The need for a shorter weather window adds a great deal of mental assurance to the trip as opposed to the passage straight back."
Bill and Diana Quinlan, Special Delivery Veteran Ralliers

Send-off parties are planned for Village Cay with an awards dinner at St. George’s Dinghy & Sports Club.

Eligibility
The Atlantic Cup is open to seaworthy yachts of any type or nationality. The lower size limit shall be 40 feet LOA. Vessels smaller than 40 feet will be considered based on their speed and the experience of the crew. All boats must pass inspection and must be sailed by two or more sailors, with final determinations made by the Event Committee. There must be at least one experienced offshore sailor onboard.

About the Event
Boats should arrive by April 30th and will be inspected by a representative of the Event Committee.

Skippers may choose to enter the Cruising Class or the Rally Class. Boats sailing in the Cruising Class do so for the adventure of making a good and safe passage and will not be judged on performance or handicaps. Their safe passage will be recognized in the order that they arrive in Bermuda.

Boats sailing in the Rally Class will be assigned special PHRF handicaps that take into consideration both engine size and fuel capacity. The corrected time for each boat will be her elapsed time less her time allowance. Skippers may at any time elect to change from the Rally Class to the Cruising Class. Stopping at alternative ports or taking on fuel from any source after the start will indicate that a vessel has chosen to join the Cruising Class.

Responsibility
Responsibility for self-sufficiency, safety, handling emergencies and for any accident or mishap will rest with the skipper, owner and crew as specified in the Rules and Conditions for this event. No liability or other responsibility is accepted by the organizers or sponsors toward the entrants, nor toward third parties with whom the entrants may become involved.

Volunteer Crew Registry
Skippers seeking crews should contact us for a list of volunteers. Normally, it is the responsibility of the crew member to provide transportation to and from the event, and the skipper's responsibility to furnish provisions for the time the crew is on the boat. Skippers normally pay the crew fee.  If you have another arrangement in mind, it should be discussed and made clear at the time the crew member is invited to join the boat. Sailors wishing to volunteer as crew should complete and return the Crew Registration Form.
